Major Structural Repairs

All round the temple huge quantity of debris have been dumped. Apart from this, the basement mouldings of the temple ( say 3 to 4 courses) have also covered under earth. Further It is also presumed that the missing part of (fallen members) temple and other important architectural members etc. might have been existing inside the debris. It is proposed to clear the debris in scientific pattern so that the members could be got from it without any damage and they can be restored to its original position. Dismantling the members are to be numbered in order to put them back as per original. As such provisions has been made in the estimate for undertaking the numbering work. The outer face stones or temple on the southern side' and all the western side have disturbed heavily. Before dismantling they are to be supported to prevent any sort of untoward incidents. As such some token provisions has been made for the purchase of scaffolding materials. Provision has been made in this item to dismantle the members carefully along with the core wall.

After that they are to be shifted to a suitable place and stacked course wise and number wise on the respective site to avoid any sort of confusion during restoration process. Apart from this, it is also presumed that the (foundation is to be strengthened) For that purpose in the existing stage it is not possible and dangerous too. Under these circumstances/ it is proposed to dismantle the structure carefully for which provisions are made in this item. The foundation of the temple appears to be not sound. For providing strength to the structure on its top it is proposed to fill the foundation with random rubble mixed with babbly sand well consolidated. For maintaining the level over the rough. foundation and to also to avoid the flow of wafer into foundation again. It Is proposed to lay cement concrete bed to a depth of 20cm. which will also distribute the load uniformly. These are provided in this item.

Provision has been made in this item to restore the dismantled members as per original one. while execution, sufficient care is to be taken in order to avoid any damages either to the members of the structures or to the persons executing the work, since the members are very heavy and delicate. In order to maintain the originality it is proposed to engage a osteopathy mason, who are acquainted with this type of work and also who have undertaken the work in the pest so that work could be executed without any disturbance and completed early in smooth manner. Further, it is also proposed to fill the core with brick jelly in lime mortar instead of rubble chips in mud core filling. In order to keep the members firm in their position it is suggested to fix the stainless dowels of l5 cm x 20mm x 4mm size for each stones and fixed in led. Further to prevent the growth of vegetation joints of slabs will be pointed in cement mortar on their back faces.

Provision has to be made to water tighten the roof to prevent from leakage. The roof slabs are laid in their positions using brick jelly in lime to a thickness 15cm. average and top of it will be plastered to a thickness of 12mm in 1:1:6 combination mortar. Further the provision is also made in this item to mix weather proofing compound and some quantity of crude oil to mix with mortar while attending plastering. In order to give appearance of old look toning is to be done for which provision is also made for the purchase of colouring/toning materials. Since the roof slabs are disturbed the condition of the slabs whether they are in tact or damaged are not known. In addition to this if is also presumed some ornamental moulding at few places might have also damaged. While restoring the work the correct fact will be assessed and damaged parts / members will be restored, for which token provision has been made in this item.

To prevent from leakage of storm water into foundation it is proposed to lay flagstone pavement all-round the temple, neatly two line dressed and laid over a sand bed of 3 cm, and joints sunk pointed. Further this will also function as a path way to go round the monuments for inspection, simultaneously visitors can also go round for the customary circumbulation around the temple. For exposing the plinth mouldings of the temple debris on the Northern and western side have to be removed. After removing the earth the excavated slope of the adjoining plant have to be protected to prevent erosion for this purpose dry rubble pitching is proposed in the estimate. Provision has been made for the supply of scaffolding materials for the execution of the work. Apart from it provision is also made for the purchase of minimum & essential implements for the execution of work.

Before dismantling the temple structure their exact alignment / position and levels are to be marked in order to keep the same while attending the restoration work. For this purpose it is proposed to construct brick masonry and over it they are to be marked for which provision is made in this estimate. It is also proposed to have a works mate at site of work for a period of 4 months in order to maintain the accounts of materials, receipts & issue daily, simultaneously he also will be at site of work continuously will be supervising the work and observing the movements of Mazdoors as this is a highly sensitive and prohibited area.
