Major Structural Repairs

Strengthening the foundation of the Vimana as the plinth courses have slightly sunk and cracks are visible in the back walls of the Vimana. The brick sikhara of the Vimana has suffered damage. Hence it must be repaired. Stucco figures partly damaged may be restored. This kind of work is well done by an expert at Hemmaragala and hence an estimate from him may be obtained. The cement plaster on the stone pavement of the verandah covering the uneven stones should be removed. The slabs underneath could be used for flag stones around the temple to prevent seepage of water. Fresh stone slabs may be provided in the verandah.

On the whole the temple deserves proper attention as the samiti is doing good work and as a monument the temple is structurally sound except for a few damages noted above. Though damaged the idol of Deviramma (Paravathi) is of great artistic importance. It should be mended by a modeller - at Hampi Museum. The small Sikhara on Deviramma shrine should be rebuilt. The Nandi figures missing may be restored in due course.
