Major Structural Repairs
Entire yard is overgrown with rack vegetation. Hence there is a need for its removal and
keeps the area free from it.
The sides of Mantapa walls are covered with all sorts of rubbish earth etc. dumped by the
adjoining houses and hotel. It is presumed that the Mantapa is standing on its basement mouldings.
In order to transfer all the original features of Mantapa, in full, provision has been made
to expose the entire structure for preparing detailed place and number the members.
The numbering of members in different columns for taking up the proposed work has to be done.
Preparing scale drawings in detail for record and which will be helpful in transplanting process
for maintaining its originality.
There is a shelter to the south
of Mantapa constructed by panchayat for the public
to sit; unless this is removed, there is no way
for moving the structural parts to the other side,
hence provision has been made for its removal.
Removal of concrete over roof and the structural
members, carefully by providing cushion inside
Mantapa, to prevent any damage even it falls without
any notice. Shifting of dismantled members from
the spot towards Roadside. Loading, unloading
and transporting them to rudset complex in Mysore
by Lorry. Provisions are also made to give cushion
in between members to avoid any damages. Apart
from the above, drawings will be prepared stating
the details of structural members available on
the stacks for easy identification. Provision
is also made to fill the cresses either with sand
or saw dust or paddy Husk to avoid any housing
of reptiles in the joints.
In case the construction & transplanting
work is delayed considerably by some reason or
the other, every possibility of provided letters
are being faded out and making the transplanting
work, a problem. In order to retain the numbers
permanently on the members, it is proposed to
chisel them and filled with paint after they unloaded
at rudset before keeping them in stacks. In order
to take the Mantapa members from spot to roadside
for loading the existing panchayat bus shelter,
they have to be dismantled. [Since there is no
alternative]. After the entire transport of members
is over, the facility, which was available, has
to be restored back. Provision has been made for
the construction of a bus shelter. However a detailed
drawing and its cost, etc., will be furnished
and sanction will be obtained before construction
is taken up.
After removal of the Mantapa
members, including the hidden one in the ground,
the area will have trenches. Provision has been
made for filling them with available earth and
to level the area to form neatly and will be handed
to the owner concerned in a good order. Leaving
the stacks of structural members in open ground
is not safe and liable for meddling all persons
moving around. Hence for the safety of these members,
it is proposed to fence the entire stacks with
barbed wire of 5 to 6 rows with stone pillars
fixed at interval of 3 meter (or 10ft) with a
gate in one corner. Since the area required for
stacking cannot be assessed now, only token provision
has been made in the estimate for attending the
work. However, before executing the same, full
details will be furnished and the same will be
obtained.
Since the work of dismantling, transplanting and unloading works are to be done simultaneously,
each place requires a supervisor in order to carry work properly and also to make the rolls
etc. In addition to these 2 persons, a responsible person should accompany the Lorry carrying
the members. As such provision is made to have one or more supervisor for a period of 3
months only.
Proper photographic documentation along with video shootings of structures in action has to
be done.
For dismantling work, some wooden poles, minor tools, implements are required.
The specifications furnished in the estimate itself are explanatory. Accordingly token provisions
are made.
During the course execution of works, we may have to carry out some work, which are not
anticipated and also had to be attended. Provision has been made by keeping some amount
meant for these kind of works.
