After observing some disturbance of structure the above action has been done it is purely an assumption. By filling the original 3 to 4 Adhistana mouldings are completely covered. Now only 2 courses are visible. This item provides for the removal of filled up earth in order to expose the entire Adhistana mouldings and maintain the original working level of the temple. While attending the said work all care will be taken not to allow any gap in between original courses and the present masonry by packing the gaps neatly so that there should not be any rest of disturbance of structure.
Item No. 7 : The temple has two entrances on North and southern sides originally. The Navaranga was open one. But the same has been closed by constructing accreationary mud wall over the Kakshasanas. This item provides for removal of the said mud wall and retain the original features of temple.

As suggested in the inspection notes, attempts will be made to rise them to its original level by using proper jacks and providing sand bag supports to the adjoining members. During execution if another pillars need any attention / rectification the same will also be attended. All these are covered in this item.
Item No. 11 : During inspection of temple in connection with the preparation of estimate we have not noticed any breakage of structural members such as beams capitals roof slabs etc., as inside temple is very dark and coated with thick dust etc. As per the experience had in these 9 years of work in this trust we are coming across the replacement of broken ones which could be noticed during execution time only. Keeping this point in mind a token provision has been provided in this item for replacing the damaged ones, if we come to know of it during the execution time. If such things does not occur this will be savings and will not be incurred.
Item No. 12. : The existing door shutters are in very bad condition needs urgent replacement similarly other cells too need door shutters for safety purpose. This item provides for providing 6 temple type door shutters using Nandi or any other local quality wood and apply two coats of touch wood paint etc.

Item No. 15 : This item provides for water tightening the roof portion of Navaranga only, after grouting the joints of roof slabs with 1:3 CM. Further the Hara courses are quite high provision is also covered to lay W.P.C. to suit its level and provision is also made to plaster the top surface with 1:6 CM to a thickness of 20 mm.
Item No. 16 : In order to strengthen the foundation of wall we have excavated earth all-round the temple and refilled after the work is over. To prevent seepage of storm water in to foundation during the rainy season it is proposed to lay flag stone payment to a width of 1.5 meter wide lay on sand cushion of 8 to 10 cm and finished neatly all these are covered in this item.
Item No. 17 : This item is self explanatory which provides for grouting the joints of walls and pointing the joints of flag stone pavements and floor slabs etc.
Item No. 18 : In the Navaranga beautiful Nandi is available. To avoid the people coming near to it and cause any damage etc a crude and ugly wooden railing is fixed on three sides. This item provides for replacing the same with a chain without marring the esthetic view of temple.

B. SHIKARA AND HARA WORKS :

Item No. 1 and 2 : The inspection note clearly indicate the prevailing condition of Shikaras and Haras. Only 2-3 pieces of brick works are available that too in a very alarming manner. Existing ones gives some clue of Karna Kutas Panjaras and Hara part especially on the northern side of Sri Basaveswara Temple. Top courses over the said one are completely missing. Instead only mud heap is available. Further existing brickwork over surya shrine gives some idea of courses existing originally. And in consultation with archaeologist we have to develop the shikara drawing for the proposed one only if it is okayed by archaeologist we have to attend there execution. As per suggestion of archaeologist we have to manufacture bricks of the same type of brick for reconstruction. Here it is to be noticed that no bricks are cut to shape. Instead moulded bricks are used through out. We have here nearly 6 to 8 different variety of moulded bricks and we have to prepare them accordingly. Further as suggested we have to prepare a lime mortar in traditional style using ingredients such as Jaggery Bale fruit, gum etc and prepare a lime paste. For this purpose either we have to prepare mortar grinding mill and grinding stone or to go in for diesel mortar grinder, which is not easy. Since this is a unique structure as mentioned by archaeologist we may take pain and try our best in reconstructing the shikara. Further, archaeologist during the time of inspection has informed such type of shikara in stone is available at Hirehadagali. As such efforts are quite essential to visit the said temple have the photographs before finalizing the shikara drawing. Keeping these facts in mind for estimate purpose only, token provisions are made for undertaking the work. After the shapes are finalized, proper estimate will be framed and sanction will be sought from Hon'ble chairman.

C. Gaddige :

A modern brick structure has been constructed few decades back for a yogi / Jangama/ st. which is not clear. The said structure is an eye sore and is abutting temple wall. Now it was programmed to transplant the samadi to suitable place from the existing spot in order to keep the temple free from any other structure near by. Since the villages are reluctant to the shifting, to avid unpleasant atmosphere with locals, now it is programmed to minimize the structure to a size of 2 m x 2m sq platform and to have a simple canopy over it for which provision is made in this item.

D. Cleaning of Structures :

Interior parts of temple cells, walls, door jams are covered with very layer of oily matter / soot / dust etc covering the architectural details having repaired the entire temple fully it is programmed to clean the above items with cleaning materials and bring the originality back. Before doing the work, opinion of proper and experienced chemist will be obtained. According to his guidance the cleaning work will be executed.

E. Retaining Wall etc :

In order to expose the hidden Adhistana mouldings of the temple and also to maintain original working level entire court yard has been lowered by 80 cm. After clearance of specified area the rest are liable for slipping. Apart from the above there is possibility of storm water entering the court yard. To avoid it is proposed to construct retaining wall to the side, and rise it, above the adjoining ground, avoid the flow of storm water in to the temple premises.

F. Environment Development :

On the western side of the temple, there are 2 big and small house belonging to the private party. As soon as we enter the village there exist vast open ground. In between the ground and temple these buildings mentioned are constructed. Unless one goes near the temple one cannot be able to see the existence of beautiful temple. Similarly on south west side of temple a small house and cattle shed is also available. According to temple committee president, negotiations are going on with the owners of buildings to hand over them to temple for improving the environment and to give a face lift to temple area. Committee has agreed in principle that they will dismantle the buildings as soon as they are handed to committee by the owners and also agreed not to remove the trees available in the temple premises. Since we have taken up the work in large scale it will be good that environment is given a face lift such as growing dwarf flower plants, few seasonal flower beds 2 to 3 benches and drinking water facilities through out by constructing a water tank. All these are covered under this item.

G. Purchase of Tools :

For the proper execution of work purchase of scaffolding materials like poles., plank ropes, minor tools etc required. A site supervisor will be kept for supervision till all the works are completed in temple. Photo and documentation of works before, during and after the works are very essential. During execution the same has to be visited by the officers for which vehicle is to be engaged. All these items are covered in this estimate. Basing on the details furnished above sanction may please be accorded for taking up the execution.
